Who Is Mourning*?

Mourning* is the experimental hip-hop project of Justin — MFA in Poetry (University of Memphis, 2013), decade-long novelist, and algorithmic thinker who describes operating in “million-dimensional symbolic-geometric spaces.”

The asterisk references the A* pathfinding algorithm: finding the optimal path through a weighted graph. The music does the same through language, narrative, and sound.

Five albums span the archive: Come,, Beast I, Orphans & Widows, Afterglance, and Superior Future. A decade-long novel, Glory & Kindness, runs in parallel — its lines surfacing in the music, its characters inhabiting the songs.

Mourning* weaves mythic narratives into reality through cutting-edge storytelling and algorithmic experimentation.
